Once again , after we had appointments in Kelowna, and did some last minute shopping for Thanksgiving, we head out to find a restaurant for lunch. We were looking to eat at Raudz but when we finally found it, they looked like they were closed, so we kept driving on out of Kelowna.
At that point, Don knew where he wanted to go and we head off to the Two Eagles Golf Course so we can eat at the 19 Okanagan Grill & Bar http://dine19.com/. The sun was shining and the weather was perfect if you were to golf. The restaurant was almost full as it was the lunch hour.
The greeting you are given when you enter the door makes you feel like an old friend and we were shown to our table immediately. Our server, Meghan really knew what the restautant offered – from the beverages to the ingredients in any item we asked her about. If she was unsure, she excused herself and quickly left to find the answer for us.
Don ordered the Maui Waui. It was a beautiful flatbread with chicken, pineapple, cheese and bits of red onion. It was hot and delicious (I even tried some – minus the red onion, of course).
I, on the other hand, ordered the “starter” size Apple and Walnut Salad. I would have been afraid to order the full size. It was huge. It was really tasty and was one bite away from being too much. I ordered a glass of Burrowing Owl Pinot Gris and was super pleased. It was chilled to perfection and was soooo smooth.
One thing, please to all restaurant owners, order some Elegant Bye Bye Fly Wine glass covers. It is a far better way for your customers to keep the fruit flies out of their glasses and will look so much better than draping a napkin over the glass and the menu hovering over the little carafe. Just sayin’.
This is a lovely special place to enjoy great food and perfect views of what the area offers.
