Milestone’s Restaurant – Kelowna, BC

A visit to Kelowna resulted, of course,  in lunch. Where else to go? Milestone’s is a great choice.http://www.milestonesrestaurants.com/

Don ordered the Prime Rib Beef Dip with deep fried onions and the Au Jus made his eyes roll in delight. They used thyme and rosemary for the herbs. He said it was beyond belief it was so good. In fact, and this is true, he wiped up the rest of the gravy with his curly fries.

I ordered a new sandwich they have on the menu…a Chicken Parmesan Panini roll with yam fries (frites seems to be the ‘new’ word here). The chicken was soooooo tender and the tomato/ mozzarella melted cheese was positively perfect. Not overpowering at all. It also had julienned basil.  The fries were great but the Chipotle sauce was a bit too spicy for me. It would be nice if, and I hope other restaurants pay attention, a side of mayo was added to the plate. (same size as the Chipotle). The rolls was soft and fresh and made it yummy.

I hope this one’s a keeper because I would certainly order it again, and again, and again.

We had a long drive home so we only had coffee and a soda with lime wedge.  Our server, Sandy, was quick, pleasant and fast on her feet. This place was packed and she never once lost her smile for the customers. Milestone’s has a way with getting the better personalities to work the floor.

Price here was $$

Great place, Great Food and the servers are awsome.

Miradoro Restaurant- Tinhorn Creek Winery

With Kelly here visiting from Calgary, we decided to take her to the
Mirdoro Restaurant. Good decision for sure.

Kelly and I each ordered a glass of Gerwurstraminer wine and Pinot Gris. Both were excellent choices.

Tonight we opted for the 3 course dinner special. Two of us ordered the sweet corn soup with pickled chantrelle mushrooms and olive oil. Absolutely fabulous. Don ordered the beef carpaccio, It looked great and he and Kelly shared their dishes with each other. Both of them loved it. If I could even begin to remember what all was in this dish  would. It so happens the presentation takes your breath away.

Then came the pizza, It was chorizo sausage, red peppers, chili peppers and was a little spicy but very, very good.  Our server, Justin, also presented us with an appetizer from the 4 course dinner. Forgive me if I get this all wrong but it was tuna with powdered black olives, aioli,  pea shoots, capers, grape tomatoes and was exceptional. There are more ingredients, but I don’t remember them all.

Then came the third course (naturally  we had a 2nd glass of wine). The dessert consisted of an almond cookie, with baked peaches and in a corner of the plate was a scoop of vanilla bean gelato set upon some crushed nut brittle.

If we could stand on the chair and give 3 cheers, we would. Outstanding food, great restaurant and Justin, our server, is a professional to the nth degree. Knowledgeable, friendly and right on the money and remembers everything. This gentleman is a gem in their crown for sure.

This is a must go to restaurant. It is $$$ and worth it.
