Home Depot – Nanaimo

Home Depot has always been “my toy store”. They have almost everything you need to put your house in order. Yesterday we went in as Don was looking for a couple of things, and me? I just wanted to walk around and see what was new.

The minute we walked through the doors, we were greeted with a beautiful smile and a gentleman asking if he could help us. Wow! I thought. Then every aisle we walked down or in a department where I would just look at things, we were asked by staff all with a big smile and may I help you on their lips.

I cannot recall ever being in a retail store the past few years where customer service seems to be front and foremost. Not one worker had a glum look or scowl on their face. Funny thing, when I think about it, it was another Home Depot Store in Osoyoos that was just like this one with great staff and even greater selections.

When we were paying for our purchases, we were asked if we wished to donate for a homeless youth charity. Don did and then with a big smile, once again, we were given a plant as a thank you.

Home Depot – you deserve an award for awesome staff, clean store and lots of choices for people like us to pick from. Yup! It still is my favourite toy store.

Clearwater Seafoods, Bedford, Nova Scotia

Never before have I ever done something like this, but it looked and sounded so darn good, I jumped on it. This was a celebration birthday dinner for our daughter and the cooking show we were watching was on the various parts of P.E.I foods that went from farm to farm to ocean.  However, the lobsters came from Nova Scotia.

I made the order for 6 lobsters, because I wanted to be sure there was enough for lobster rolls the next evening for dinner. OMG! Why? Just because fabulous.

They arrived so well packaged, cold, looking great enough to be devoured. SOON!

I was going for the big lobster boil meal but after looking at the size of our lobsters, I opted simply for baked potatoes with butter and sour cream. We had melted garlic butter for the lobsters and, of course, ended up licking all our ten fingers I think.

This was more than advertised and we decided yesterday we will be doing this again for Christmas. Clearwater be prepared…we are returning.

I made a Cannoli Cheesecake for dessert and that celebration was a wrap.

Thank you Chefs, P.E.I. and the wonderful service and product you have to offer.
