When we drove into Kelowna last Wednesday to pick up Suzanne at the airport, we stopped in at Moxie’s Moxie’s Kelowna for lunch. THIS is a classy restaurant. Clean, modern and a slightly different variety to choose from.
Don ordered the Lobster/Brie Sandwich as well as the Cheese/Broccoli Soup. He claimed it was very rich, very tasty and not over cooked. I ordered the Veal Burger with pancetta and white cheddar cheese and, of course, the fries. It was different but really tasty and it was SO good, I ate the whole burger. Haven’t done that in years.
The Duty Manager was super, making sure that all was well. I can’t/won’t/don’t eat onions and she made sure it was done right. Addie, our waitress, was very bubbly and it was a good experience all around. One thing, and I am a real nut on this, the washrooms are along the same lines as the Cactus Clubs. There is a fireplace in each of them (men’s and women) and the slate tile floors make it absolutely a must restaurant to frequent. I kid you not. If the washrooms are not clean and fresh, why would I eat there? What are the kitchens like then?
One thing I am almost campaigning for is that Restaurants/owners must realize that every sandwich can’t have onions in them. I would have loved the Lobster sandwich but it was made with onions in an onion bun.
Would we come back? In a heart beat.
