Cactus Club, Nanaimo

I know you probably know what we like about this establishment, but their biggest Ambassador is their Manager, Logan. He is their greatest asset and I hope they keep him here.

Last night, rainy as ever, the restaurant was full and a line up at the front door. When you look around at the various tables, there was only 1 (lone lady) who was on her device. No one at any of the tables we could see had one out. All were busy laughing and talking. We haven’t see this for ages.

Our server, Jolene was exceptionally on point with smiles, assistance and even patience. One at our table (Kelly) always has a problem deciding what to order. We ordered our drinks and just chatted away.

The menu has some new steaks and Don had one. I, as always, had my Ravioli and shrimp dish. This place serves up the best steaks and shrimp in this city. Kelly had the Tuna Poke Bowl.

They are consistent always in service, staff and food. Please keep them here. I just wish it was a little more south. All the good stuff is in the north Nanaimo….just sayin’.

Cedars Restaurant and Lounge

The other night a group of us attended this restaurant. We were blessed with  one superior server, Adam. The ambience was breathtaking with the view of a Japanese Maple tree just outside the window.

The menu is really something to peruse. Adam came and took the beverage order and returned shortly with drinks and great conversations and lots of giggles.

Food order taken and it was great all around the table. I ordered the Baked Brie with candied pecans, honey, thyme and pecan crackers. It was to die for. Don ordered a filet mignon steak, fingerling potatoes and mushrooms. He said it was the best ever.

Dessert was the table favourite-pavlova. It was quite yummy.

We will definitely return. This is one super restaurant.
