From previous reviews of Montana’s and our continued saga over steak dinners, their Manager, Rick called me and we discussed what had taken place over those few visits. I am thankful to say that Rick, allowing us to try again, sent a gift certificate to Don. I never, ever prepare a review expecting something in return
We did go again after a few months and both Don and Kelly ordered their steak dinners. I ordered my usual chicken dinner. Our server, Karli, was very pleasant and helpful. She actually brought crayons to the table for the two ‘kids’.
When the meals arrived, it was a bit of a shock to see. Kelly and Don ordered the very same meal, both medium/rare and they got two very different steaks. Don’s was appearing to be larger than the 7 oz. steak ordered and Kelly’s was appearing to be a different piece of meat and less than the 7 oz. ordered. We asked Karli to return Kelly’s steak as it was cooked medium and not medium rare. By the time it came back, both Don and I had finished our meal. Kelly said the cook on the steak was better than the first one, but both of them said the meat was under seasoned.
When Karli came back to the table to take the remaining plate from the table, we asked to see Rick (he was there). He acknowledged the situation in the kitchen and apologized. We asked about the Churro’s for dessert and they are no longer on the menu.
We know Montana’s is a family restaurant and famous for their ribs and we wish them the very best. We can hardly wait for the Brisket to return to the menu.
In the meantime, we will continue our enjoyment of local restaurant visits in the area as we have no qualms paying for quality meals.
