This morning, because we were too tired to buy groceries last night when we arrived, so we grabbed a taxi and went downtown. We found the Gumbo Restaurant when we got out of the taxi and, because it said they served breakfast all day long, we went in.
After being served our coffee, we ordered our first breakfast here. Don had the Crawdaddy Benedict with a side of fruit and I ordered the Belgian waffle with eggs and crispy bacon. Perfect.
Don’s plate also had spinach and a cooked half onion under the eggs. The crawfish in the sauce on top was really tasty I admit but I have to say, my waffle was good too, so we both won.
The funny thing was, our server Lashondra came back and refilled our coffee cups from a large paper cup. Never seen that before, but wondered if any of you have had that. We just giggled, paid the bill and left to get our tickets for tomorrow’s adventure.
