Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day, for me, is bittersweet. My own mother has been gone from this world since 2005 and to this day, I cannot look at the beautiful displays of Mother’s Day cards even now. I would spend a very long time, reading and looking for the perfect card for her.

My Mom was always there if and when you needed her for a shoulder to cry on, or her ears to simply listen. She was a shy wallflower when meeting someone for the first time and yet, was Worthy Matron for Eastern Star. She was always available when asked.

My Mom wasn’t raised with saying “I Love You” but after the birth of my daughter it all changed. I wanted to break that shortcoming and from that time to even now with my blended family, all have become the most hugging family going.

I miss my Mom so much but I am so thankful for her, how she raised 4 kids, kept a clean house and never outwardly complained if she was missing anything in her life.

If you still have your Mother, cherish her because it doesn’t last forever in the scheme of life’s cycle, hug her, tell her you love her, and be sure to thank her for what she has given you. Trust, confidence, knowing right from wrong, manners, respect, ever deepening faith…the list could go on and on.

By the way Mom, thank you for my beautiful “Arctic Blonde” hair and the older I become, the more I resemble you and for that, I am thankful, so very thankful.

Love you Mom.
