In October we took two of our adult ‘kids’ to New Orleans so they experience this beautiful culture and, of course, we had to take them to the school of cooking. Now, please everyone if you go to New Orleans, be sure to book (long time ahead of your trip) this class with Miss Sondra. She is there on Fridays and you will fall in love with her.
We were here a few years back and felt we had to show our ‘kids’ what the cooking is all about, history about Cajun and Creole and their cooking procedures and how they differ and what an asset this lady is to New Orleans.
The school also has shopping to pick up spices, hot sauces, souvenirs, pralines, towels, cups, utensils. Everything you can think of.
You get a meal that Miss Sondra has cooked – soups, entre and dessert, along with a beer, coffee, tea, juice etc. Trust me, you will not be hungary when you leave here.
