Party Food Cooking Class, Osoyoos Home Hardware

I know, you have heard it all before BUT Paul Cecconi of Brodo  http://www.tastebrodo.com/and his best partner, Han from Hans On Kitchen in Kelowna https://www.facebook.com/HansOnKitchen were the stars in the kitchen. Paul made foods you can prepare for entertaining during the Christmas-New Year’s Eve celebrations.

He prepared a red beet falafel with cranberry ginger yogurt dip. This was a colourful and spicy tidbit. The hit of the night for me was the Dungeness crab gruyere grilled cheese sandwich with a bacon jam spread. OMG! This, my friends, is beyond description of perfection in yumminess.

Then he moved on to the duck confit/squash bun with a sweet chili curry sauce.

Lastly, he made a rum eggnog using egg whites.  The house was full and the wines presented were from Culmina Winery. http://www.culmina.ca/

I would be so remiss if I didn’t mention the fantastic wonderland that Frances and her staff have showcased with Christmas decorations, candles, dishes and on and on. Things you wouldn’t see anywhere else .http://www.osoyooshomehardware.ca/aboutus.htm

Anyone who has ever been to the south Okanagan (Kelowna to Osoyoos) will have visited her store and know of what I speak, but you must come down and see this display. It is like sending a child into a candy store filled with fluff and fantasy and saying “go for it”.

This fantastic lady of unleashed energy and caring for anything/everything local is a whirlwind to behold. Love her and love her staff and store. Truly!

Another evening filled with tips and tasty treats, great wines paired well and, of course, the wandering around the store and trying to take it all in.

Yup! Sucks to  lucky like we are. Come on down and see this before it is finished for the year.
