Beyond Restaurant, Century Plaza Hotel

We had the opportunity this week to dine at the Beyond Restaurant, Beyond Restaurant

in Vancouver.  If you go onto their site, you can check out the  menus for all meals but their site does not allow you to make reservations. You have to phone. I know, that is inconvenient but it is worth it.

Don ordered the Braised ribs, which marinate for two days before braising. The vegetables consisted of baby squash (my favorite), carrots, cherry tomatoes and smashed potatoes.  He also had an iced tea. Don said it was really tasty and the ribs fell off the bone.

I, on the other hand, ordered the wild range free chicken with mashed garlic potatoes, and the same vegetables as Don. I absolutely loved mine. It was sooooo tender and yummy. For me, they win for sure because they serve a decent size mug of coffee.

The service was good, the ambience even better. The music they were playing was soft jazz and really worked in this setting.

2 thumbs up.

When in Vancouver be sure to give it a try.  By the way, when we first arrived, we sat in the lounge and I ordered a cocktail and the ‘yam fries with cajun chipotle mayo”.  Oh dear….they were devine, but we could have fed 6  people. Not chintzy here but my-o-my they were yummy!. Had to quit eating them as we would be returning downstairs for dinner in a few hours. Yup! It is worth it.
