Cactus Club, Metro Town, Burnaby

This past weekend, we went to Burnaby to celebrate an early Easter together as well as Don’s birthday. Work schedules and other commitments made it impossible to have it any other time.

Our granddaughter is now diagnosed with Celiac disease and a simple crumb that is not totally gluten free  will make her very ill. She asked our server, Janet, what she could order, with some changes  being done, she told us. Our meal was ordered and our server says the Cactus Club is so astute to allergies the Manager on duty has to check out the order before it even comes to the table.

When leaving I asked to speak to the Manager to thank her for all they do for their customers.

Now you know another reason we love it so.

La Stella Trattoria-Nanaimo

The favourite place for pizza, Arancini and Cannoli for sure. We have been going here once a month for quite a while and it just gets better. Reservations are a must if you want to come and enjoy a great meal.

Cherie, our server is a true gem. She welcomes you with a big smile, calls you by name, remembers your beverage selections and what you like to order….until last night.

We took a left turn last night. We skipped the Arancini and went straight to the meal. Kelly ordered a Calabrese ‘fire-spicy hot pizza with (you guessed it) a spicy chili oil. Don ordered the Gnocchi with Beef Ragu and I ordered the Ravioli stuffed with Ricotta, Lemon and Parmesan cheese.

Oh my! Was this delicious. We all loved our new choices. For dessert? Need you ask? Cannoli for me, Chocolate Gelato for Kelly. She is still drooling it was so good,  and coffee for Don and myself.

La Stella…you did it again. Yes, Cherie we will be back, you know that.
